Got Visa to IIT Chicago

Hi groupies,
For all the visa aspirants. I got my visa for
IIT,ITM specialization on july 13th.
My profile:
GRE - 1050
TOEFL - 243
Acads - 81%
1 backlog

My appointment was at 2:15. I reached there at 2:10. I
was waiting for abt 15 mins outside where the security
checked my appointment letter and passport. After the
initial checking I was waiting outside for about
another 10 mins. Then was called inside for the
personal checking by the people inside. There they
again checked my PP and web appointment letter.
Immediately after that I was allowed inside the Pre
screening room where the Indian Auditors were checking
the hdfc reciept, appointment letter, ds forms,
passport & i20,sevis fee reciept. I waited in that
queue for 15 mins and then my turn came where the
auditor checked my forms and gave it in a maroon
folder. It is mainly called as "PRE-SCREENING" becoz
if the auditors find any mistakes in the DS forms they
juz mark it with a red pen and it turns out to be a
black mark in your visa interview. So kindly take
care.Whichever coulmn is not applicable to you juz
type "NA". After this was done I waited for 10 mins
and then was sent to the visa lobby stairs. then went
inside and waited there for half an hour where the
visa chief mark came and gave all the visa aspirants
general tips like, if the VO asks how do u know abt
teh college... dont ever say, ur seniors suggested;my
professor suggested and it suits my profile. It simply
irritates the VO. Abt the Financial documents they are
very particular of the transactions.these are the
things which he dicussed. Then we were asked to move
further where there were abt 13 counters. There we had
the Bio Visa which is nothing but the finger print.
Then I was asked to stand in counetr no.2. Here goes
the real play.
VO: Good afternoon
me:Very good afternoon mam. How r u doing today?
VO:Am doin great. Whats the university u r planning to
do ur masters?
Me: Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago
VO:Wat is the specialisation u r planning ?
Me: Information Technology and management
VO:watz gud abt tat specialisation
Me:ITM is the eprfect medley of Technical and
managerial aspects with that I would be able to gain a
wide knowledege both in the field of data management
and network security. Nowadays in any firm data needs
to be preserved in really a secure manner for which
ITM proves to be the Backbone.
VO:Why is that u have chosen IIT for this
specialisation?
ME:I came to know abt IIT bye means of a seminar which
they conducted in venkateshwara engineering college in
the month of february.IIT has got its best VOIP labs
and also they have gained the AITU(Association of
Independent Technological universities) which is the
prestigious certifiaction in US.(everything sd here is
true).
VO:R u working in.......?
Me:Yes... am working as.........
VO:After ur MS where do u want to see urself?
ME: (Im muz thank my best freind pravin for this, for
he has given me an excellent answer for this
one)Technical architect.
VO: Who is a technical architect
Me: The role played by a TA is that he is really sound
in the technical aspects of the project allocated and
manages the entire team. This is wat exactly ITM does.
VO:gimme ur GRE,TOEFL,Degree certifcates
ME:gave them.
VO:how r u gonna fund urself?
ME: my parents are funding me.
VO: what are they doin?
ME: sd everythin in detail
VO:R u the only daughter
Me:Yes mam
VO: ok, I dont find any fault in ur documents, have a
great study in US.
Me:thanq very much mam, have a gr8 day
VO:u too...
Thats abt it frenz. as everyone says, even if u lie be
confident and presentation is important. jort downur
points and dont collapse in front of the VO. be slow
and logical. Gud luck to one and all who r aspiring
for Visas. u will surely get it. Trust in god and
trust in u.
